MBP’s Christmas Party 2015: Definitely an Affair to Remember!

Last December 5,2015,  I was thrilled to attend a fun and significant event in my blogging experience: Mommy Blogger’s Philippines’ Christmas Party 2015.

Before I share about the party, I just wanted to share why it stands out in my book.Personally, as a breastfeeding mom, it was the first time in 8 months that I was away from my little one for more than a couple of hours. It was also my first time as a stay at home mom to join a social event outside of family gatherings and get-togethers with friends. As a blogger, I felt exhilarated to be among the beautiful and talented mommy bloggers of this group. Being at the MBP Christmas party marked a milestone in my blogging life.

I arrived at The Linden Suites a little after noon and self consciously entered the Sky Lounge venue. The room was warm and elegant in its red and gold theme styled by Amari events

Luckily, there were still some seats available at a table in the corner at the back.  The mommies there, Mhaan (mommyrockininstyle)  and Melisa (seafarerswifesdiaries), welcomed me with smiles and divulged that it was their first Christmas party with MBP too. This made me quite comfortable.A little later, I also got to chat with  the other ladies at the table, namely: Juvy (mamaspeaks), Jhoann(triplejoys), Sheen (momisushin) & Gracie (fabmama).Mommy Lariza (mwah)broke the ice with her candor and curtain dance  haha!

Our table was charmingly setup as an afternoon tea party as its lazy Susan was adorned with a gold tea kettle, a teacup and flowers. I also noticed the red boxes and ribbons that complimented the other pretty little things on the table. The red boxes, it turned out, are souvenirs from mommy Nhessie (rolledintoonemom) and the fanciful ribbons were by Chelsy & Casey.

The program started with a prayer and  later on, introductions were made by each mommy blogger about themselves and their blogs. Of course,  when it was my turn, I scrambled for words at first but eventually the nerves were replaced with pure elation. I felt so happy that I was able to stand and tell something about this blog. I created it to encourage moms, especially stay at home moms(SAHM), to be not just SAHMs but tap into their strengths and talents to be happier and also contribute to their community. I wanted them to know that they have opinions and experiences that matter. We are more than the roles we play.I think I got a bit carried away, didn’t I?

Back to the party, the delightful lunch was a buffet courtesy of Mesclun Restaurant at The Linden suites. Everyone also enjoyed the exciting direction game from Vitacubes. There were also a number of raffle draws with prizes such as gift certificates, vouchers and houseware. I actually won a hotel voucher from Hotel Quickly! I hope to use it soon!

Mommy Louisa (artofbeingamom) & Mommy Lani facilitating the raffle draws!

Sometime after, we had some more time to get to know each other over coffee and some biscuits from Lotus Biscoff.

I think the biscuits fit the setup quite nicely don’t you think?

The afternoon went quickly but before everybody went home, we exchanged Christmas gifts and then got hold of the goodies from our sponsors. I want to personally thank all our supportive friends who put our ecobags and biceps to good use! May your bigheartedness be rewarded tenfold!

For me, it was certainly an affair to remember.I got the chance to meet some of the women I admire for their passion in shaping the mommy experience one blog post at a time. I got to share interesting conversations with other mommies. Mommy Lani (tweenselmom) mentioned that blogging can feel lonely sometimes and I agree. But now, I’ve met mommies who share the same enthusiasm and hopefully we can inspire one another to be better writers.

Here are some snippets from the party courtesy of Mommy Gracie. The collage below is a collection of  interesting moments at the party taken by Casa Litrato – Photo & Video Services.

I’d like to wish my fellow mommy bloggers and you my dear readers, a very merry Christmas! May we be ever mindful of the blessings we receive and continue to share them!
