ThisMommyLoves | Cycles Sensitive Insect Repellent Lotion For Mosquito Protection

To all those who know me well, they know I’m on the cautious side of things. Some of my friends have actually described me as a worrywart. As a mom, I’m constantly researching on the safety of the stuff my child uses. Are they toxic? dermatologist-tested? non-irritating?

I think my concern with Zika and Dengue is quite warranted. Well, I have been meaning to share my review on a brand of insect repellent lotion I’ve been using on my daughter but thankfully now, I’m finding time to do it. It’s Cycles Sensitive Anti-Mosquito Non-DEET Insect Repellent.

I wanted to share my experience with this product because I saw first-hand how a mosquito suddenly moved away from my daughter after I had this lotion on her skin. It was amazing!

The active component of this lotion is picaridin. Here are some important things to remember about this compound:

However, please remember that this compound hasn’t been studied extensively and its long term effects are still unknown.

As for Cycles Sensitive Anti-Mosquito Non-DEET Insect Repellent, there are many things I love about this local product. First, it offers 8 hours of protection. It is also fragrance-free and non-greasy. Because it is hypoallergenic and paraben free, I’m not afraid my daughter will have skin irration. Furthermore, it has been tested safe for babies 6 months up.

It’s quite pricey about P250/100ml online but I think it’s definitely worth it.

By the way, they also have a lotion for your little ones less than 6 months old: Cycles Sensitive Natural Insect Repellent. It has the same qualities as the former except it contains mild citronella and eucalyptus extracts and provides 3 hours of protection. It costs more or less P300/100ml online.

  1. Oh. I never knew that Cycles has insect repellant lotion din pala. We should really be cautious with the products we try on out kids. Good thing, this one's DEET-free! And it doesn't have a strong smell which most kids really dislike. The mosquitoes nowadays are really scary. Better be spending money on lotions to protect our LOs skin and overall well-being than spend tons of money in the hospital. Ingat tayo palagi! 🙂

  2. I was able to try this before (Free for every purchase of Cycles Detergent), I agree super effective sya and not too strong ang scent compared to other anti-mosquito repellants right mommy? 🙂

  3. Intrigued to try it as well. Love how you described the mosquito flying away from Yana. Hahaha. It's better safe than sorry now so we need those for the boys.

  4. We also have insect repellent at home just to be safe. I was surprised to know that they are offering lotion na rin, I thought laundry soap lang sila for babies. I agree, quite pricey for the size.

  5. Haven't tried this one out yet. Puro off! ang gamit namin kay Nate. hehe. Pero grabe talaga mga lamok ngayon, mas nakakatakot na lalo! I have to agree, it's a bit pricey, pero if it's all effective, yes, definitely right sis, it's worth it!

  6. Hello sis, available din ba to mga supper markets? sana available noh? Parang gusto kong bumili for my Zd kasi may mga mosquitos din dito sa tinirhan namin ngayon.
