'Tis the Season To Be Sephora Glammin'

Christmas is really in the air with festive decorations adorning homes and streets, last minute gift shopping in full swing, and of course, the exciting seemingly endless holiday parties. Besides the outfit, probably every woman gets a bit ansty about makeup especially during special occasions. We all want to look our best, right?

Well, it’s a great thing that Sephora, a leading French chain of cosmetics and perfume has launched its website in the country early this year. Sephora Philippines offers prestige products from various foreign brands and free delivery for orders above P1300.  I’d say this is a pretty good deal considering the hassle of heavy traffic and long queues at the mall these days.

For quite some time, I’ve been eyeing some of their makeup products since I’ll be attending quite a few parties myself this year. For inspiration, I figured I’d turn to one of my favorite celebrities: Sandra Bullock. I’ve always found her quiet sophistication truly refreshing against the glitz and glam of Hollywood.

I particularly love this holiday look she had in a stunning bright blue dress with naturally elegant makeup. Pop Sugar captioned one of her pictures “Holiday Giggles”. She looks like she’s having a lot of fun, doesn’t she? I’d love some of that holiday cheer to rub off on me and my holiday look!

To achieve this look, I’ve come up with excellent  makeup items from Sephora PH I’d use. But before sharing this with you, I'd like to first talk about the beauty tools I'd need.

I seriously adore these  brushes from the Zoeva Rose Golden Vol 2 Luxury Set. They are made with natural and synthetic fibers and can be used with both cream and powder products. Moreover, there is just something about their rose gold color that puts me in a holiday glam mood. Aren't they gorgeous?

My eyebrows also need some tweaking so to achieve those nice full arched brows, I’d need the Tweezerman All that Glitters Slant Tweezers. Love the shimmer too!

Now that I have my tools ready, are you curious about my holiday look? I’m calling it “Sleek Holiday Chic”.

Here it is!

Shall we begin?

I’d start with a clean face then apply some Mirenesse Professional Makeup Base Skin Primer to even out my skin tone. This makeup base has a pale green shade that corrects signs of discoloration and inflammation. This would be a big help to people like me who have occasional flareups.  It also contains moisturizing agents to make the skin smooth.

To hide the dark circles around my eyes and skin imperfections, I’d then apply on some Sephora Collection High Coverage Concealer in natural. This high coverage concealer has avocado and evening primrose oils to nourish and reinvigorate the skin. Plus, it lasts for 10 hours! After party party, anyone?

Next, I’d use Sephora Highlight Lowlight Face Contour Duo in medium to highlight my cheekbones and give my cheeks some depth. After this, I’d dust a light cover of the Sephora Collection 8hr Mattifying Pressed Powder in beige on my face. I have oily skin so using this product would help maintain a shine-free look perfect for those holiday pictures.

Moving on to the eyes now..

They say eyebrows are everything and I agree! So I'd dab some long-wearing Benefit Cosmetics 3DBROWtones Eyebrow Enhancer in light/medium on my brows to add natural looking highlights and soft contrast. After that, I’d play up my eyes with the nude-based colors from Zoeva Naturally Yours Palette.

For my eyeliner, I’d opt for 3CE Creamy Waterproof Eyeliner in cats for that intense black color. It comes as a retractable self-sharpening pencil and has an oil- and water-resistant formula. In case I’d get sentimental at the party, this would definitely come in handy.

After perfecting my eyeliner, I’d gingerly coat my curled lashes with Mirenesse Secret Weapon 24° Supreme Mascara. Two coats would probably be enough. With this product, I’d have long lasting full-looking lashes without extensions or false eyelashes. Best of all, it’s water-resistant and smudge-proof.

Finally, to make my cheeks  and lips more captivating...

For that radiant healthy-looking glow, I’d brush on some soft pink blush from Becca Blushed with Light Palette. Lastly, I’d swipe on a nude lip color, Too Faced La Crème in naughty nude, to finish up this look. This lipstick is great because has hydrating, soothing and conditioning properties from white lotus extract.   It also has power peptides to stimulate collagen and make lips smoother.  This lipstick would surely tie this whole look together.

There you have it! My Sleek Holiday Chic Look!

How bout you? What’s your Sephora glam look? Ready to paint the town red?

  1. I like the Zoeva Rose Golden Vol 2 Luxury Set, ang ganda na ng color and complete brushes na. I only have one brush at home since I'm not into make-up. But one of my goals next year is matutong mag-make-up. :)

  4. I am just happy to read this post. At least I get to understand the terms considering that you have Sandra B.'s look as reference. I seldom read blogs on cosmetics as I simply cannot understand the brushes and colors being used. But you made it easy for me to understand. Hope you win :) and surely you will.

  6. Oh my! They have a site na pala in the Philippines. I will tell this good news to my mommy friends who are into make-ups (that is, if they don't know it yet! Haha!) They would love to hear that Sephora is withing their reach through its online shopping site. I've learned to love online shopping when I became a Mom. It saves me a pretty good amount of time talaga.
